U Aye Chan (Nickname; Ko San) was born in late 1973. Straddling between the raining and cold season, the name literally means Cool & Cold and figuratively, peaceful. His father was a Navy man and the mother, a teacher. Since both of his parents were working full time, Ko San spent most of his childhood times with his grandparents and cousins, apart from his parents. He was the eldest of the three siblings, with two younger sisters six and seven years junior to him.
